Few things capture the atmosphere of an East Texas community gathering quite like barbecue and live music. On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Sabine County Youth Foundation BBQ Cook-Off brings both together, with the Joey Ward Band scheduled to perform at 7:00 PM.
For visitors spending the weekend near Toledo Bend, the evening performance offers another reason to head into Hemphill, enjoy local entertainment, and support a community event.
An Evening of Live Music
The Joey Ward Band is the featured evening entertainment at the BBQ Cook-Off. The event has live music, food, and family fun, with the band taking the stage at 7:00 PM.
Live music brings a different energy to a community event. After a day of cooking competitions and activities, an evening performance gives visitors a reason to stay, gather with friends, and enjoy the atmosphere a little longer.
Barbecue, Music, and Community
The BBQ Cook-Off is presented by the Sabine County Youth Foundation, with gates scheduled to open at 10:00 AM for the cook-off and associated activities.
The event encourages visitors to come out and support local youth. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free, admission price for older guests are not specified.
For visitors interested primarily in the band, the evening performance provides a natural centerpiece for Saturday’s plans.
Enjoy a Toledo Bend Weekend With Live Entertainment
Spend Saturday morning at Mid Lake Campground, enjoy the lake during the day, and head toward the BBQ Cook-Off later for the music.
