There’s a particular kind of enjoyment in browsing a community rummage sale. You never know what you’ll find, whether it’s a useful household item, a piece of vintage décor, a favorite book, or something unexpected that catches your eye. On October 23–24, 2026, the Hemphill Garden Club is hosting its Rummage Sale at 777 Worth Street in Hemphill.
For visitors staying at Mid Lake Campground, the sale is a chance to enjoy a little treasure hunting while supporting a local organization and its community projects.
Two Days of Shopping in Hemphill
The rummage sale takes place over two days, with shopping hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday, October 23, and 8:00 AM to noon on Saturday, October 24.
The event features a broad selection of gently used items and household treasures, making it worth browsing even if you don’t have anything specific in mind.
Because Saturday hours are shorter, visitors planning a weekend trip may want to stop by in the morning.
What Can You Find?
The Hemphill Garden Club Rummage Sale lists home décor, garden items, kitchen and household goods, books, collectibles, crafts, seasonal decorations, gently used clothing, and other secondhand treasures.
That variety is part of what makes a rummage sale enjoyable. You might discover something practical for home, an unusual decorative piece, or a small souvenir of your East Texas visit.
Shopping That Supports the Community
Proceeds from the sale benefit Hemphill Garden Club projects, community programs, and the club’s scholarship fund.
That means every purchase contributes to something beyond the item itself. Supporting a local rummage sale is a simple way for residents and visitors to participate in the community while giving useful items a new home.
A Relaxed Addition to Your Lake Weekend
If you’re staying at Mid Lake Campground, start Friday or Saturday with a visit to the sale before heading back to Toledo Bend.
You can spend the morning browsing, explore a little more of Hemphill, and still have plenty of time to enjoy the lake afterward.
It’s a reminder that a getaway doesn’t always need a major attraction to feel memorable. Sometimes discovering something unexpected is enough.
