A visit to Toledo Bend is about more than time spent beside the water. The small businesses and welcoming communities around the lake are part of what makes a getaway to East Texas memorable. This October, visitors have another reason to explore downtown Hemphill as Ann’s on the Bend celebrates its opening on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 8:00 AM.
Located at 152 Market Street, Ann’s on the Bend is inviting the community to stop by, shop, and enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts. It’s a simple, welcoming way to introduce a new local business while encouraging visitors to discover everything else downtown Hemphill has to offer.
A New Shopping Stop in Hemphill
One of the pleasures of exploring a small town is finding locally owned shops that give the community its character. A new business opening brings fresh energy to downtown, creating another place for residents and travelers to visit while supporting the local economy.
Ann’s on the Bend is celebrating that connection with a “Support Local” message. Its opening invitation encourages guests to shop at Ann’s and then visit the other businesses around the Hemphill square.
For Mid Lake Campground guests, this is an opportunity to explore beyond the lake, browse downtown, and enjoy a relaxed morning in town.
Coffee, Donuts, and a Warm Welcome
The opening begins at 8:00 AM on Friday, October 9, with coffee and donuts available for visitors. Whether you’re already planning to be in Hemphill or simply looking for a reason to get out and explore, the event offers an easy way to start the day.
After visiting Ann’s, take some time to walk around downtown. A shopping trip can become a leisurely morning spent discovering local storefronts and the atmosphere of Hemphill’s historic town center.
Add Downtown Hemphill to Your Toledo Bend Getaway
Guests at Mid Lake Campground can go for fishing, relaxation, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Toledo Bend. But the nearby communities often adds something different to a getaway.
Spend the morning in Hemphill supporting a new/local business, then return to Mid Lake Campground to enjoy the lake, the onsite amenities, or just to relax after a productive or eventful day. It’s a nice balance between discovering local places and enjoying the slower pace of a lakeside getaway.
